New Committee Members - Vote
We have had 2 committee vacancies for some time and have recently had proposers and seconders for both positions.
We are now ready to take your votes on who should fill the committee spaces. As not everyone will know everyone we asked the people who showed an interest to write a bit about themselves, you can read this below, and then cast each of your votes - one for each position.
Position: Club Treasurer
Candidate: Colin Webster
Proposer: Sue Duncan | Seconder: Burnie Nixon
Colin says: "I have owned an S2000 for nearly 14 years and been a member of the S2ki.com forum and the UK club for most of this time. I started my career as an engineer, after moving into Procurement / Purchasing, and have worked for Lucas Automotive, GEC Marconi, BAE Systems, Xchanging, ICI, the NHS and Accenture. I have also run my own business for the last 5 years. Having decided to give up work late last year, I now have time to help with the running the club and, with my background, I think I am ideally suited to the role of Treasurer. I live in Maidstone, Kent; with my wife Caroline and our dog, Mitch."
Position: Social & Communications
Candidate: Sophie Vaughan-Evans
Proposer: Norman Stuart | Seconder: Colin Webster
Sophie says: "I have been involved with the club for over 14 years in various roles: as a meet organiser, enthusiast and general helper; and have attended many meets over the years. Now, having finally purchased my own S2000, I am very keen to support the club in a more official capacity.
I currently work in Sales and Marketing (with a CIM certificate for those Marketing people among the club members!), have a great grasp of social media tools and analytics. I want to use the various social media platforms to publicise existing meets and encourage new owners to attend and to sign up to the club. I also think we need to attract younger owners to our meets to help secure the future of the club. I have been assisting with the social media over the last year and have seen followers and interactions increase hugely over the last year, particularly on the Instagram page."
